Is ozone disinfection safe?
Yes — when performed by a trained professional following proper protocols. Ozone at high concentrations is harmful to humans, pets, and plants, which is why the space must be fully vacated during treatment. Once treatment is complete and the space is ventilated for a minimum of 1-2 hours, ozone naturally converts back to regular oxygen and leaves zero chemical residue. ThermaScan uses professional-grade equipment with calibrated concentration and timing — this is not a DIY process.
How much does ozone disinfection cost in Oakville or Toronto?
ThermaScan's ozone disinfection service ranges from $699 to $1,399 depending on the square footage of the space and the severity of the odor. The majority of residential treatments are $699. A $200 discount is currently available using coupon code OZONE200 at booking.
How long does an ozone treatment take?
The ozone generator runs for 2 to 6 hours, calibrated to the size of the space and severity of the odor. After treatment, the space is ventilated for a minimum of 1-2 hours before re-entry. For severe odor cases, a follow-up verification visit may be recommended 48-72 hours later.

What odors does ozone treatment eliminate?
Ozone treatment effectively eliminates smoke odors (cigarette, cannabis, fire), mold and mildew odors, pet urine and dander odors, water and flood damage odors, cooking odors embedded in surfaces, and post-renovation VOC off-gassing from paints, adhesives, and new flooring.

Do I need to prepare anything before the ozone treatment?
Yes. All people, pets, and plants must vacate the space before treatment begins. Perishable food items should be removed or sealed. Sensitive electronics can remain but should be covered. ThermaScan will walk you through the full preparation checklist during the assessment step.
Will the ozone treatment damage my furniture, flooring, or electronics?
No. Ozone treatment is safe for all standard building materials and contents including furniture, flooring, electronics, clothing, HVAC systems, drywall, and wood. Ozone leaves no chemical residue — it reverts entirely to oxygen after the ventilation period.
